We Need A Perfect Vacation This Summer

I'll be honest, I feel so uninspired right now. Aside from feeling lazy, I am personally looking for something different to do. A getaway from my usual.
We haven't been out with a perfect family activity this summer. I never thought that we are going to be this busy. It's a good thing that we excluded "planning" for 2009. Eventually we'll end up frustrated if we plan then suddenly it will not push through.

Then last night, I good friend left me a message in My Multiply leaving a link to a very interesting place to spend our summer. She just posted photos from their trip.

My husband and I were considering camping for the family aside from swimming. And we had a hard time looking for a family-friendly location. Until my friend's message came. 3 photos below c/o of my friend Claire.

Our regular venture would always be in Batangas. We need something new, private, a trip fit in our budget. And this place in Zambales holds the answers to everything we want. I'm hoping to spend Mother's Day( May1o) and celebrate our 5th Wedding Anniversary( June3) in advance here. We have never been out since 2009 began. This is perfect.

Island hopping, Camping, home-cooked meals, private boats and accessiblility-wise, this was just overwhelming to know. I never knew that a place like this existed. I expect to find this in Palawan, Cebu or in Boracay. But 3 hours away from Manila. Wow!

Reusable bags. This one was from Shopwise. It is being sold for P99. I got 3 for my groceries. It is a very sturdy bag. Not as fashionable like the reusables abroad. But it greatly emphasizesd on helping the environment with its green color and logo. SM supermarket and department stores also offers green bags for your shopping convenience.

Like Mommy Chris, I also separate plastic bottles, cans and cartons. I give them to our caretaker. She earns, by selling them to the junkshop. And surely the junkshop will recycle those plastics. The plastic bottles are also useful as pots for your flowers. My dad would use them as pots for his herbs.

I feel responsible and good about it. This is my help in keeping the environment safe and clean.
And lastly, proper disposal of our trash is important. Learning to segregate is a good start.

I am tagging every blogger in my bloglist and every visitor who wishes to share their ideas to keep Mother Nature healthy.

When Opportunity Knocks

Just a few weeks ago, I got a job proposal from America. As some of you may know, I took up Nursing in 2002, right after I graduated from my first course (HRM). Back then, I was waiting for calls from various companies I applied in relation to Hotel and Restaurant Management. While waiting, I decided to study again. Until I got married.

In relation to my second course (Nursing), a very close person asked me if I could work for a family friend in America. I took it as an opportunity. Because from the requirements needed in order to take my family with me, the benefits that will be given (that includes studying if I want to), location (near the sister of my dad), and the option that we can still go back to the mother land, are perfectly listed. All I need to do is to accept in order to process it.

Surely my husband didn't like it. And one of the important things that my Mother taught me, is to trust my husband. But this is another issue to be settled privately. He is open to talk about it. We're both thinking of our son's and our children's future.

We all know the number of people who wanted to leave the Philippines. Thinking that they will be able to fulfill their dreams abroad. I don't blame them. I too have my bad and sad moments here in the Philippines. Especially with the governing system.

And here I am, being offered the best of everything.

I am torn between leaving my home land and spreading my wings some more to try something different and to be able to grow and understand life outside the four walls of my very own home.

I love the Philippines so much. And so is my husband. He will not choose to live here if he doesn't. We are very happy here.

We may not be earning so much. But the people, the culture and the life just makes a person feel good and relaxed in a sense that there is no real pressure existing in working too hard.

The smiles, the jeepneys, the tricycles, the dirty streets, the people we call Manong and Manang...the food, the long vacations (LOL), the manila bay...these are just some of my/ our reasons why I'm/ were torn in two.

Ella

One of the faces I love to photograph is my sister Ella. Her features are perfect. From the shape, the bone structure and most of all her eyes.
Taking pictures has been part of my life. The ironic thing about it, I feared the flash of the camera when I was still a kid. But thank goodness I was able to overcome that fear, and now I'm exactly the opposite. I love being photographed and I enjoy taking them.

The pressures of owning a DSLR is to be able to justify the purpose and intention of buying one.

Questions like: "Why did you buy a DSLR? Do you want to become a photographer?

All I wanted was to upgrade my old digital camera. It just so happen that I will get my money's worth with an SLR than getting another digital camera.

Ella, originally uploaded by Momachie.
And by maximizing my camera's features, I get results like these.

Red and orange covered our summer sky as it finds its way deep into the night.
As researched, the hue resembles the effect of aging in old photographs and photographs chemically treated for archival purposes, an effect sometimes created on purpose.

Friday's Theme Is Coming Up

And I'm in the look for a fancy dress for this month's Friday's theme. Every last Friday of the month, my husband's office holds a costume contest. Last month was Western. With all the cowboy hats going on.

Fancy Dress does nothing but fancy dresses and with over 5,000 costumes to choose from. Fancy Dress range covers everything from hats to footwear, wigs to shoes and boots. Silent Hill

This was one of the movies that kept us busy over the Holy Week. No cable T.V, we thought at least a good movie would keep us company.
I got familiar with Silent Hill as a game on Playstation 2. I watch my husband play it. With all the interest rising, we got a DVD copy.

The eerie and deserted town of Silen Hill draws a young mother desperate to find a cure for her only child's illness. Unable to accept the doctor's diagnosis that her daughter should be permanently institutionalized for psychiatric care. Rose (Radha Mitchell) flees with her child, heading for the abandoned town in search for answers, ignoring the protest of her husband (Sean Bean).
It's soon clear that this place was unlike anywhere she's ever been. It's smothered by fog, inhabited by a variety of strange beings, and periodically overcome by a living darkness that literally transforms everything it touches. As Rose searches for her little girl, she begins to learn the story of the strange town and realizes that her daughter is just a pawn of a larger game.-source-

This was the movie adaptation released in 2006, from the first game Silent Hill: Origins 1999.
It was a very interesting flick. Not scary at all, but very disturbing. I got confused right in the middle of the story. It will take a lot of thinking, but it was all worth it in the end. It was made for you to internalize in order to get the answers to your questions. It's one of the things I love when watching a movie---when I get to think and study. Then later, get the message I'm looking for.

No wonder it was a huge success to the general public. The characters were based from the first four games.

It's one of the movies that had an evil face-off. Watch it!

I'm Through With My License

Finally today, i was able to renew my driver's license. It took me 2 months just to be able to get the requirements together. Since I'm not employed, I have no TIN# at hand. I had to get one from BIR. That was one of the things that made my renewal complicated. Especially with the system this country is currently running.

With all the obstacles in the way, it still gave me that fufilling sigh in the end. My hard work payed off. I can now drive again. Go anywhere I want, I can borrow my Dad's car in case my husband is not available. I mean, we all know the convenience of having your own car than using public transportation.

When My Desktop Died On Me

Still recovering from it. I am very sad, that I lost most of my recent photos and files with it. I got too comfortable that nothing will happen and wasn't able to make back-up files. We tried adding a 1GB ram over the weekend. We thought that its the ram that was not working. So we tried to have it replaced. When we got home, my husband immediately fixed the CPU hoping it will work. All of a sudden it (the old desktop) bugged down. He found out that it was the Motherboard and Hard Disk that need replacements. Maybe that's why the Ram wasn't responding. It will take a very long time, before we can buy a new desktop.
I had no choice but to use my laptop for my internet access. And I am having a hard time working with Vista and Internet Explorer together. For the mean time, my husband might change my Laptop's OS to XP and hopefully install Firefox too.
I apologize if I'm not able to visit and make drops regularly. I don't really know what the problem is, I can't open more than 3 windows. I make drops through my Ec drop inbox, to make things easier. I hope my husband will be able to do something about it. My laptop works perfectly fine. Its one of the highest HP Pavilion ever released. I think its the system programs clashing.
EC drops and visits will continue Thursday! Have a nice day!

Its' So Nice To Be Happy

Shalalala! Happy! It's so nice to be happy! I have been jumping for joy since yesterday! Talk about good timing. Happy Easter everyone! I was out yesterday to kill time in various malls like Greenhills and Megamall. My day started pretty well. I was able to get myself 2 nice pair of flats.

Its been a long time hunting for a good pair. Nothing fancy or overly expensive. Next, I was happy that my husband was finally able to buy the toy he wanted so badly. This collectible, Macross VF-25 Messiah Model.

From Greenhills, we went to another mall to buy some goodies for our Easter Celebration. Of course, part of our journey was to visit some of our favorite shops. Mine, included the Canon Store! I made an inquiry on the available lenses they have. The next I plan to buy is a Telephoto Lens. I know I can buy this for a very much cheaper price somewhere. But security wise and for complete satisfaction, I don't want to risk it. I was told that they (Canon) are selling this Telephoto for Php11,000 ($200+). The EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III.

Don't worry I have researched on this lens. I know why it's cheap and how it works. Anyway, I called my dad and immediately told him about it. Another thing made me happy, He will try to purchase this lens in Singapore next week while he's there!!! It's going to be cheaper. I might add a Speedlite 430EX II, if its going to be really cheap that is. Plus I also gave my dad another option:EF-S 18200mm f/3.55.6IS .

Lastly, the photography magazine I like is featuring Portraits and Proper Lighting.

Its exactly what I want to learn. All these happened in one day. And even if my desktop died on me yesterday, eating up all my photos and stuff, its fine with me. The hell with desktops (lol). I still have my laptop (which I'm using now by the way). I'm still recovering from all the excitement.
And today we celebrated Easter at my parents house. It was a fun sunday. We had an Easter Egg Hunt and a bonus game! Later in the afternoon, my husband and I had an awesome full body massage at a nearby spa. It was great! I still feel that I'm floating.

Anyway, I might not be able to make much drops. I need to fix my files and all sorts to be able to get back on track again. I'm so dying to share some photos...Well, that will follow! Have a great week! Hugs!

Looking For Furnitures

That is according to your taste. Our house in my hometown is pretty old. My grandmother filled it with furnitures made of wood. If not, Antiques of value. The family is in the process of planning for the new house we're going to have soon. And we decided to stick with a modern feel, but still with a hint of the old-fashioned look. We find log furniture is best for the whole idea.

Of course, each should go well together. Most log furniture fits every living space. It looks natural. I mean, with the color alone, a person will not have a hard time putting the rest of the room together. Its very neutral. From dining table, bedroom pieces and center tables your dresser, a log furniture can provide it all.

It Was Their 34th Yesterday

Happy 34th Anniversary to my Mom and Dad!!! It was yesterday. I was with them celebrating. Consider this as a late post or an update. They went out early yesterday. After lunch, I got a call from my mom, inviting us to join them, since they were around our area.
My Mom and Dad, originally uploaded by Momachie.
You know, I really couldn't think of what say to them. I am just very thankful that both my parents are healthy, that their enjoying life, and most of all, they're happy . I am not my person today if not because of this 2 angels. Guiding me/us, helping to spread my/our wings further, as I/we move on.
Beef Strips With Broccoli
Yang Chow Fried Rice
Crispy Fried Chicken (more on my food blog)
Its suppose to be "their day", but since I was invited, I didn't hesitate to join them. I love hanging out with my parents. My husband stayed at home to rest, while me and my son went with them to SM Megamall.
We had a good meal at Super Bowl Sm Megamall Atrium. Went shopping for some kitchen materials and some Easter Eggs for our egg hunting this Sunday.

It was a very relaxing celebration. Tomorrow another plan is brewing. It's my Mom's birthday!!! and they want to extend the celebration. This time, with the rest of the family.

Name and their Meanings

One of the things I shared on my 100 truths entry were names I/ we plan to give to our next children. As somebody who grew up with traditional background, the meaning of the name does matter. It will represent the person and it will reflect his/her personality and of course, how the parent was able to raise the child. We all know that name meaning is one of the most important thing to new moms and dads. I myself got pretty excited thinking of something nice.

I believe that names should be something to be proud of. May it be a common name, unique, or even the weirdest we could find. Every country, race, language, we're all different . It's the Being representing it, that's making each unique.

I Woke Up With A New Set Up

I woke up today with a new computer table.

This is Where and How I get in touch with you guys!

My husband brought home a second hand computer table from his office last night. I knew about it. But I didn't think that it is going to be this nice. When he said second hand, I thought, ok. Nothing really exciting. It's still better than nothing.

But then, I had second thoughts myself. Knowing my husband who has very high standards and who's more strict or precise when it comes to these things. I know I won't get disappointed.

He was up all night setting it up. He placed everything to where it was . Now, I have a better sound system with it. It's quite a mess after, but its okay, the gesture was very sweet and something to be grateful for.

Not Nice On April Fools

Were so suppose to have fun on "Prank Day". But as Yahoo released the news that a deadly computer virus is about to set free on April 1, it made the whole essence of April Fool's nasty. I found about the Conficker Worm through my husband. They've been keeping safe their office's computer system since the rumor came out. It is bound to steal credit card numbers, passwords and other personal accounts. To my understanding, anything that you type or visit or whatever you do with your computer, is going to be copied by the said virus. The creators will get every info.

Malware creators love to target April Fool's Day with their wares, and the latest worm, called Conficker C, could be one of the most damaging attacks seen in years.

Conficker first bubbled up in late 2008 and began making headlines in January as known infections topped 9 million computers. Now in its third variant, Conficker C, the worm has grown incredibly complicated, powerful, and virulent... -source-

Microsoft offers a free online safety scan, which should be able to detect all Conficker versions.

Be extra vigilant on protecting your computers. Make sure your anti-virus software is updated and working. As Conficker may have disabled it already.
