Green & Go!

Maybe some of you are familiar with Araneta Center's e- shuttle service. Well, I was in Alimall yesterday and I was able to take a glimpse of this environment- friendly vehicle up close. It is a 14 -seater transportation that caters to Araneta Center's avid customers and visitors. It goes around the whole Cubao area. From Alimall to The Gateway Mall, and it is for free!

The e-shuttle is open for everybody, but it is more beneficial to the senior citizens and disabled. This way, they will enjoy the tour of Cubao from one mall to another. E-Shuttle is battery powered.

* The Green and Go Shuttle and Oplan Araneta Center are some of Araneta Center's Green efforts in collaboration with ABS-CBN's Bantay Kalikasan, endorsed by The Quezon City Government and the Philippine Basketball Association. It complements the Quezon City government's eco-awareness campaign involving a green building ordinance and green fuel provision.

Reusable bags. This one was from Shopwise. It is being sold for P99. I got 3 for my groceries. It is a very sturdy bag. Not as fashionable like the reusables abroad. But it greatly emphasizesd on helping the environment with its green color and logo. SM supermarket and department stores also offers green bags for your shopping convenience.

Like Mommy Chris, I also separate plastic bottles, cans and cartons. I give them to our caretaker. She earns, by selling them to the junkshop. And surely the junkshop will recycle those plastics. The plastic bottles are also useful as pots for your flowers. My dad would use them as pots for his herbs.

I feel responsible and good about it. This is my help in keeping the environment safe and clean.

And lastly, proper disposal of our trash is important. Learning to segregate is a good start.
