Extraordinary November 25th

You know what made this day extraordinary? To start, Thanksgiving Day  2010 is celebrated on the other side of the globe on this date. November 25, marks the calendar that we are exactly a month away from Christmas. To add, it's my birthday and I'm sick with a really bad cold LOL!  My birthday dinner was canceled, I couldn't cope with this heavy feeling stuck in my brain. My eyes all watery and I'm still dazed with the medicines I took the whole day.  This world isn't perfect, that's how life goes, it's still something  memorable. A thought that I can  look back to and might just make a day fascinating just thinking about it.

Nothing will stop me from thanking the Lord, who gave me a colorful year, and yet another to look forward to. I would also like to thank the people who greeted me on this special day... Thank you for remembering.

With all that has been mentioned, like I said, I may be sick on my birthday, but it's something worth remembering. Tomorrow is a busy day but  I know it is going to be a fulfilling one. Thanksgiving mass to start my weekend, lunch with my boys in celebration of my birthday, will go shopping after.
And then... I will start packing for our 3 day vacation!
Yes, God works in mysterious ways...

The Lady Bag

Let me get this straight, with regards to my post title, I'm still confused.  I was never really into this kind of things. All of a sudden, I want more bags. But for some reason, this time around, I want it because I know I deserve it.  So far, my eyes were set for either a Mahogany Coach Bag and a Nine West sling bag. But  I was told that the Coach Bag will cost me php11,000 (which I think is still cheap). Even if I can afford it, 11K for a bag is too much and it's not practical for me, I have so much priorities in line, so I passed on Coach. With one option left, I immediately made it final to buy the Nine West sling bag.  But again, to my surprise, there were no stock left for me.

I didn't really feel disappointed, maybe it wasn't for me... but it made me sad, because I seldom get opportunities where I can spend a little for myself. Especially, I had to wait for my birthday just to be able to justify that "hey, there's an occasion, it's okay to spend". As I was telling my husband the idea of buying myself a birthday gift, and while walking along a MANGO store, I made a quick glance at their window display, and found the most amazing line of satchel bags...on SALE!!! and on the other side, a Lacoste shop  awaits.  Now, I'm back on having 2 options once again.

1. a MANGO satchel bag
2. or a LACOSTE sling bag

Come and visit after a day or 2 and find out which one...
Special thanks to my Ninang (Godmother) for another stunning bag. It's her birthday gift for me.   I love it!
*Believe me, after this, it will take me years to make my next purchase.*

An Inspiring Song On A Beautiful Sunday

Find Yourself: Brad Paisley
Listen to the song here:
sweet nothings
 When you find yourself
In some far off place
And it causes you to rethink some things
You start to sense that slowly
You're becoming someone else
And then you find yourself

When you make new friends in a brand new town
And you start to think about settlin' down
The things that would have been lost on you
Are now clear as a bell
And you find yourself
Yeah that's when you find yourself

Where you go through life
So sure of where you’re headin'
And you wind up lost and it's
The best thing that could have happened
‘Cause sometimes when you lose your way it's really just as well
Because you find yourself
Yeah that’s when you find yourself

When you meet the one
That you've been waitin' for
And she's everything that you want and more
You look at her and you finally start to live for some one else
And then you find yourself
That’s when you find yourself

When we go through life
So sure of where we're headin'
And we wind up lost and it's
The best thing that could have happened
‘Cause sometimes when you lose your way it's really just as well
Because you find yourself
Yeah that's when you find yourself

You Will Always Be The Other Half of Who I am

I'm the type of person who wants to give gifts with an extraordinary touch.  I found this pair sweet and rare.
A mere key chain it is, but what a treasure to be able to express how important these are to me and what it symbolizes. A bottle opener, I will always be here to give you a lending hand, support  and strength in whatever you'll go through. I am always here for you... and without a doubt, I know that smiling face signifies true happiness, a loving guarantee that trust  and faith will lift us both up and we will always do everything together no matter what. Without you, I am a nobody, I will never be the person I am today.

Thank you for leading me towards the path to capture and experience life's greatest gifts, discovering the secrets of My BEING.

Oh Christmas is Here, Christmas is Here!

Over last weekend the 3 of us, namely my husband , my son and yours truly, spent our weekend shopping for Christmas decorations and setting up our Christmas Tree.
My little boy's been waiting for this since summer that he made Christmas lights to be part of his wish list. We didn't fill the tree as much for the moment.
Since we changed our them e from Silver and Blue back to Red and Gold, we want to take it easy this time by putting the right decorations that will make our tree simple yet elegant to look at.

By the way, I added some butterfly ornaments this year... It made our tree look modern and sweet. And to make Christmas different, we decided to put an Angel on top of our tree instead of a star. Our son will give us the honor midnight, 24th of December and as we welcome Christ on the 25th.

The sudden change of theme was inspired by our new home. Remember, we moved to a different place early this year. You know what they say, new home, new beginning, new life full of new opportunities. So why not, it's been 2 years sticking with Silver and Blue, Red and Gold would add more life to this new chapter in our lives.

My Favorite Eat, Pray, Love Quotations

I have a different set of  beliefs and learnings in my life that motherhood brought upon me. But I will never forget the heart of a woman who strongly believed  and is still believing in change and embracing life's little secrets.

It was heartwarming to be able to see my imagination into clear picture as I watched Eat, Pray, Love. For every line read in the book itself, I stop and wonder what was it really like as I  try to place myself in her position. It moved me. It was indeed an extraordinary story.

"Some days are meant to be counted, others are meant to be weighed."

"To lose balance sometimes for love is part of living a balanced
life."

"Ruin is gift, ruin is transformation"

"We don't realize that, somewhere within us all, there does exist a supreme self who is eternally at peace."
-Elizabeth Gilbert

"Your treasure - your perfection - is within you already. But to claim it, you must leave the busy commotion of the mind and abandon the desires of the ego and enter into the silence of the heart."
-Elizabeth Gilbert

A Mother's Hope To Travel Someday

Personally, I look at traveling as an opportunity to go on an adventure, for new discoveries, a learning curve and a chance to appreciate life beyond the usual. So ironic when I have a  valid passport and a visa that would last for the next10 years, but I haven't been anywhere my whole life.

People think I've done some traveling  with how I relate to their travel stories. With that, it only proves that being not able to travel doesn't make you less of a person. I've met travelers of different types. Some are yes, disdainfully proud that it will make the so eager listener uncomfortable. And I would conclude that the real travelers doesn't really brag about the places they've been too. In a conversation, it will just hit you by surprise, and it's great knowing a person with such attitude and personality, his or her stories will make you feel like you've traveled with him or her too.

I have hopes and plans on when and where to travel someday... I'm not rushing and I try not to keep it too high but dreams will always be there to inspire me everyday. The moment I chose motherhood, I knew that it's not going to be easy. Sometimes, opportunity is already right in front of us, but our instincts as parents overpowers me and my partner on choosing a more practical purpose and thinking what would be best for the family.

I opened myself to be flexible and agreed for the possibilities that most of my plans as a person are going to be set aside at least until when I know everything my son needs are all going to be provided. If you might ask, where do I want to go? To be honest, while making this article,  first thing that went inside my mind, was to be thankful and grateful if God will grant us the chance to have time and extra funds without touching our savings. The location won't really matter as long as I'm with my family.-photo source-
I know,  I will be able to travel someday... and with those who are dear to my heart.

Elegance ♥'s Simplicity

Personally, I'd go for being elegance than all out trying to be fabulous. Elegance is always defined with simplicity at it's finest. It doesn't require too much from a person. At the same time, it teaches us  to carry ourselves with grace and style.
Simplicity, carried to an extreme, becomes elegance. ~ Jon Franklin

2 Years Already?

If there's something I need to think through over and over again, that would be the reasons why I missed on  my blog's (Sweet Nothings) anniversary. I just realized that last October 24 was my blog's 2nd year, and not a single shout out or post about it. What was I doing then? Hmmm... Looking at my calendar, I was out enjoying an International buffet with my 2 boys. Well, that saves it. That's a pretty good reason right? Anyway, this website may not be the same as to how it was running between 2009 and middle of 2010, but that doesn't mean my life became boring. As a matter of fact, more exciting things was happening while my passion for blogging was dying down a bit.

Maybe you noticed I have less posts about my son. It's for his protection. I don't want everything to  be exposed. Not that sharing stories about your kids are bad, this is just me.  To add, I don't have personal posts such as sharing my recent take on my hobbies, especially photography. Since I'm not out to become a professional or to make money out of it, I decided to keep that part of myself private.  I am always the point of comparison. So I need to protect myself from other people's shameful act of being insecure. I don't want to be dragged to this kind of horror. And yes, laying low on my posts helped. They stopped but I could still feel how curious they are, it shows. Now, they're totally clueless. Hahaha!

I'm trying to get back on making blogs again.  Let me begin my journey  once more by following the pace I started back from 2007-2008. Continuing its real purpose and function, more of an online diary. Simple but exciting blog posts and with no pressure at all. Living and loving life, sharing my special moments and dreams. Thank God for Blogging, I was able to introduce this other part of my life as , Killahhhqueen,  Momachie,  Enchie. 3 significant roles.
 As a friend to everyone
A mother and wife
and Being a True Person both online and personal.

I wonder where I'll be if I didn't blog...

Us Stay At Home Moms

Thoughts on my mind on a Thursday, a post entitled Thoughts On A Thursday dated November 4, 2010. Yeah that one, if you were able to read it. Well, I came up with it not because I fought with somebody or I'm hitting on an individual. These are words, thoughts I was able to put together hearing people talk about topics that concern Stay At Home Moms. May it be from a t.v show, a relative, a friend, or even from a total stranger.

To clear some statements with the last post I made... and obviously I had trouble on choosing the right words, I felt that my post may have become offensive for some. Let me start by thanking the people who were able to understand my point of view. Thank you for keeping an open mind.

That post was made out of pure honesty. Some people think if we Stay At Home Moms have the luxury of staying at home, we also have the luxury of time and they think we're also being lazy on the side. Like I said earlier, my thoughts were inspired by individuals I heard talking about it and I'm just giving them my answer through this blog.

I know the value of hard work even I stay at home and I don't need to experience it just to be able to understand.

For us Stay At Home Moms, it's harder because we are the ones balancing and maintaining a home for our family members who go to work everyday. "There's No Place Like Home" right? Thank your moms for  that. In the office,  you follow basic procedures. It's there in black and white all you have to do is to follow and practice it. Then every 15 days, you get your payment.

Us Stay At Home Moms, we don't have a sheet of paper with procedures to follow. Hard work doesn't apply to us (or at least for me). EXTREME SACRIFICE are the terms to be used. It's a gift to be able to create a home  or at least we Stay At Home Moms try to reach that close-to-perfect environment we all want to go home to.

Us Stay At Home Moms, we concentrate on molding each family member on becoming a good person and  we will never stop, not until our time is through.

In the office, you have retirement  waiting. Us Stay At Home Moms, we don't get anything and we are not expecting to get something return.

In reality:
We do it everyday, we get used to it throughout the years, that's why it looks easy.

Deep inside:
From the very beginning, a mom's heart, mind and body was naturally made ready. Total acceptance. One should be passionate about it. Yes, there are times when we think... what if? We're only humans, we have dreams too.

-edited-

It may look like it's a big luxury, but the truth is simple, put everything I've shared together, us Stay At Home Moms are called experts on managing our lives well. Our role keeps us happy as long as we know that each member of the family is happy and fulfilled.

15 in 15

This is actually a Facebook tag... interesting to make sharing easier... It's being able to think of 15 movies in 15 minutes.

Here are the rules:
  • Don't take too long to think about it.
  • Fifteen films you've seen that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen you can recall in no more than fifteen minutes.
  • Tag fifteen friends, including me, because I'm interested in seeing what films my friends choose!
  • (To do this, go to your Notes tab on your profile page, paste rules in a new note, cast your fifteen picks, and tag people in the note).
1. Eat, Pray, Love
 2. RED (Retired Extremely Dangerous)
3. Lord of The Rings Extended Version
4. The Ring
5. The Grudge
6. 28 days & 28 Weeks Later
7. Transformers
8. Christopher Nolan's Batman
9. Fight Club
10. Iron Man 1&2
11. Big Fish
12. Harry Potter
13. Shawshank Redemption
14. Chronicles of Narnia
15 .The Prestige

The top 2 movies are the recent ones I've seen. Both movies are fun to watch. The rest are my all time favorites. And since I'm already sharing my thoughts on flicks. The Hobbit just got its green light to continue production. If you haven't seen the Extended Version of LOTR, save it. Watch it after The Hobbit then try connecting everything. The 1st Part of the last Harry Potter installment (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1) is going to be shown this month, and another adventure from The Chronicles of Narnia (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader) is also set to be released.

Lazy Blogger---Not!

Okay fine, I'm guilty as charged, it may seem that I've become a lazy blogger for the past month, but really, I just wanted to spend more time with my family and myself. Not only that, I was also spending time with my parents following up on our latest mission that I'm about to unveil soon. I went back to visit my Alma Mater St. Paul College QC, now a university. It's life working without the pressure of posting or documenting everything at once.
With my mom, a picture taken recently, just to let you see how I look at the moment. Still the same only with longer hair and bigger thighs hehehe!
Now 3rd Street of St. Paul Quezon City. See the tall building to the left, that's their Hotel and Restaurant Building. Gosh!
Enjoying time at Tom's World and Timezone. Tried so hard on getting this Mr. Krabs doll. Here's what I gotta say, cheater!cheater! It's impossible to even get the doll hanging with all the bumps the machine is making. I've been out with my 2 boys almost every weekend and minus my camera. Oh by the way, Canon fixed my basic lens like it's brand new. We ate in several restaurants, old and new. It was fun, delicious and entertaining. Another thing that kept me busy was the World of Warcraft. Since the World is about to change in a few months, I try to accomplish whatever I can in order to make the most of the present environment of the game. I was also following BlizzCon 2010 online.
With the long weekend, my family spent time Trick or Treating with my husband's cousin Perry and his daughter. Again, we were in and out the mall. We've been in Toy Kingdom like 3x in a row because we were fixing Franky's Thomas train, adding tracks and stands to make it higher, then we will add tiny Christmas decors hoping we could build something like the train from a Coca-Cola Christmas commercial.

And to end, I've been busy in the kitchen. I failed my first brownie attempt but I got successful with my first Moist Chocolate Cake. Love it!love it!love it! Other than that, I've been making plans with husband too.  My birthday, presents, preparing our Holiday list, a possible travel to visit toot!.

God has been very gracious, thank you Almight Father for this life you have blessed us with.
