Among The Boys

These games may not be familiar to most of you. Maybe you've heard about it. But what I'm trying to share here is the unique experience of a girl being the only  female in a guild or group of male players online. On the gaming perspective, how does it feel to be one of the boys?

1. I'm treated like a princess. Well, not literally, but that's how I feel every time I know I'm taken cared of.

2. Great respect. Since I'm the only girl in the guild, even if my shots at some quests or raids are a bit off, the rest of the guys are still very courteous. Instead of nagging at me, they teach me and assist me with whatever I need to learn.

3. Being part of a guild with my husband is a one of a kind gaming experience.

4.I get a lot of freebies!

For every online game like The World of WarCraft one should always buy original. Since I'm just new in the guild, I bought my account straight from the Blizzard Store. From the first installment, to the second. But guys, these games aren't cheap, that's why it took me some time deciding whether I should get the third part or not . Like I said, with the guild I'm in, some of the guys were very nice to buy me the third part. They even surprised me. My husband met up with Mr. Mu so that they can install it under my account without me knowing it.

The next thing I know, I am now playing Wrath of The Lich King and trying my best leveling up to 80.

And our latest, was the new StarCraft II. StarCraft has been the most awaited game within the past years. If I'm not mistaken, the first StarCraft was released back in 1995 or 1996, and it was a big hit. The story on how we acquired this game was very simple. I can say, everything was done "all for the love of gaming". Summer of this year, it was announced that Blizzard will release StarCraft2 sooner than expected.

A Collectors Edition is up for grabs for those who will make reservations. It's kinda heavy on the pocket for  when we found out that it will cost $165 per CE set. Of course it came with a lot of freebies, but $165 is still big for us. So we decided to wait for the price of regular box set to go down.  Since we're part of a group of gamers, and everybody was just waiting for my husband and me to have it, a very nice person bought it for us instead.
You know what, after expressing my thoughts on this blog, I think I forgot to mention that we have wonderful friends to be thankful for. Some of us were just mere strangers to one another when we started this group. But as the guild began to add members and we started playing together, friendship blossomed.

So there, let's hear it: Thank God for StarCraft, thank God for the World of WarCraft, thank God for instances, and most of all, thank God for this rare gift of Friendship.

By the way, Thank you Mr. JSP for the Original StarCraft II T-Shirt!

W0W

Just months ago, I told my husband that this is one game I don't want to play. Well, it looks complicated compared to the other Warcraft games. Aside from that, it might eat up most of my time getting the most of what we paid for. But then again, W0W brought a new level when it comes to online gaming. Since I finished all campaigns from Warcraft III to Frozen Throne, my husband expected that I will get the hang of W0W too. If I will not try, I will never know right?

Over the weekend, we made a deal. I'll try playing W0W and see if I'll like it, but he needs to treat me to the new Pizzeria near our place :)

And so it began. I was given a 10 day trial version, in 2 hours I leveled up to 6. I chose to be part of the Horde. A lady Tauren- HUNTER.
The following day, after getting my approval to play W0W, my husband bought me the real game online. For every player, one must have an original copy and have it registered online.

Yes, I enjoyed playing W0W. My husband was right all along, he knows me too well :)

Left 4 Dead

What kept this mom busy this holiday season?Left 4 Dead did. This Mom Is A Gamer! Our friend introduced it to us. It's a 4- player co-op game. Zombies? , Apocalypse? you got it! Not only that... it's zombies and apocalypse combined. Worse situation you don't want yourself to get into.
From the makers of Counter Strike and in celebration of HalfLife's tenth anniversary. Developed by Turtle Rock Studios. The game pits four survivors of an apocalyptic event against hordes of zombies inspired by some modern flicks like 28DaysLater. A five-minute trailer was released on Halloween. A playable demo was made available on November 6 for pre-purchasers and on November 11 for the general public, and was closed on November 18, 2008. The demo contained the majority of the first two chapters in the "No Mercy" campaign, and was playable in both single and multi-player co-op. December 2008 it was released here in the Philippines. Data Blitz sells the game for P2000.

The game is composed of 4 playable human characters:

Zoey- College Student/ horror movie enthusiast
Francis- Biker
Louis- Junior System Analyst/ IT
Bill- Vietnam Veteran

A time is alotted to the team players to load guns, grab first aid kits and ammunition. Killing the zombies is easy, no need to blow their heads out. But the rage and aggressiveness may beat you. A list of villains were made to make it more exciting.

Here are my favorites
The Horde of Zombies. Meet the zombie horde: eerily fast, sensitive to loud noises and movement, and able to attack in ravenous waves.
Witches only want to be left alone so they can enjoy a good cry. They hate flashlights and loud noises, but what they hate more than anything is being shot at. If you hear the Witch's tell tale sobs, turn off your flashlights and try to sneak around her. If she starts to get angry, her growl will let you know she's close to attacking.
The Hunters are a mutated breed of zombie—faster, fiercer and far more dangerous than common Infected. Keep your ears perked—a shriek from the darkness means a Hunter is near, and ready to pounce in for the kill.
Mutated through infection, the Tank's only strategy is brute force. Find the Survivors. Pummel them to death. Repeat. Healthy Survivors can run slightly faster than you. Try to trap them in tight areas, or use a thrown chunk of concrete to stun them.
The Hunter's Way

Available on PC and Xbox 360
The Zombie game is back!Even better.
