If only I have the extra time, I would also have my list of the top 10 Influential Bloggers. There's so much to share and to write. I started here looking up to other blogs too and I still do. I found not only friendship, but inspiration and happiness reading stories from all aspects of life.

I am also thankful for having a permanent blog design. I have always wished for this since I started with Blogger. Having a personal web design that goes well with the site title, adds excitement for the readers and visitors. It makes them know the author more as a person inside-out.

I Want More Autobots!!!

If there is something I didn't like about Transformers 2, that is it lacked Autobots. It was announced ahead that the movie is going to be focused on war between The Decepticons and the Human Race. Wouldn't you think adding a little flavor to our good robot friends would have made the movie more exciting. Robots familiar by name. I mean, its "The Transformers" right? This is also the movie where I concentrated on the robot characters instead of the humans. A job well done for the actors by the way.

Over-all, the movie was great. There's a big bunch to watch out for.

The fight scenes of Optimus Prime are my favorite. It showed qualities of a real leader and a great warrior. He fought Megatron, Starscream and Blackout all in one battle. But of course, a twist was needed in order to make way for more interesting scenes.

Let me introduce you to the Transformers who made the list:

Originally, we planned to watch on IMAX at the Mall Of Asia. Due to a busy week, we weren't able to make ticket reservations. Second choice was the Globe Platinum (Cinema 10) at the Gateway Mall. When we got there, it was fully booked until the following day. All 9 cinemas at the Gateway mall are showing this robot flick. The line went all the way around coiling from the center. Bought tickets for the last full show.

Franky was very excited. He brought his toy robots, and played along while watching. As for me, I want to watch it again on the big screen, buy the toys and DVD as soon as they release it. Will there be a next Transformers? I don't know, I hope so. Megatron still reigns, Optimus Prime is stronger than ever. Most Autobots and Decepticons survived.

Recovering From A Tooth Extraction

Last saturday, I had an emergency visit to my dentist. I planned my weekend perfectly. I thought a quick prophylaxis and tooth extraction will be good. Everything turned out to be a visit from hell (nothing against my doctor). This one tooth extraction gave me a hard time. The tooth was too hard to be pulled out. I had hunches that the root must be hooked to my gums, exactly what my dad and my sister had.

If something like this is hereditary, most likely, I have it too. My dentist tried her best to pull it out. I had two rounds of anesthesia and my dentist ended up hammering some bone part of my tooth to make room for movement.

I was sitted on that freakin' dentist chair for 3 hours. My dentist was getting exhausted. I gotta give it to her. My dentist's position wasn't easy. I mean, she's trying to put force to pull the tooth out, at the same , she was also making sure I was comfortable enough to handle it.

In the end, she was able to pull the whole thing out. The tooth was really big. As predicted, the root was curve. I felt like I'm a vampire. I have human blood all over my mouth. By the way, that is, a vampire missing a tooth. LOL!

Anyway, I had to take meds to stop the bleeding and some anti- biotic.

The heaviness and pressure brought about by the extraction stayed with me the whole weekend. But inspite of everything, I enjoyed ice cream from Dairy Queen and a late night show of The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen at the Gateway Mall after. (Movie review in a while).

He Said He is The One

I was in shock when I found out early this morning about Michael Jackson's death... I was expecting for a comeback if not this year maybe within the next 2 years. Knowing that the come back would be sooner (scheduled for July 13 2009), I was greatly saddened.

There were times when I would think if Michael Jackson would release another album.

Being part of The Michael Jackson generation, I look up to him as an icon, a legend in the music scene. He stood as an inspiration to singers and song writers in order to create music of true value.

A few years back, I bought this DVD full of his music videos...Right now, I am fully regretting the fact that I gave it to someone else. A friend from the province wanted to watch something, so we lent it to that friend of ours. I don't know if I will be able to find an original copy at the moment. This DVD kept me company while taking care of my little Franky then. The One is a DVD release of the CBS special that aired in January 2004. Released by Michael Jackson, it has been certified Gold in the US.

Good golly, I shouldn't have given it away.

Mommy Moments---School Days!

I'm glad that I have an entry today. My son started school summer of this year. It has been a good year for us. I thought that I won't be able to cope and provide the essentials when it comes to his education. I am thankful that God provided and we're able to enroll him in a private school. Education is both a milestone to the child and as a parent.The photos that I will be sharing are from his Summer Class Graduation last May 21. The class concentrated on child interaction. It was perfect for Franky in preparation for the real school.

Here, my son holding his first recognition/certificate. Another step forward in this lifetime.
I wish and pray for him all the best. That people will treat him right and respect him, as to what he is--- being Respectful to others.Bringing him to school everyday, is just like enrolling myself to school again. We Moms are here to guide help our children. So, consider that it is going to be another set of school experience for us.

Proud Mom... after the short ceremony we had a small feast with the teachers and the other parents. Everybody was friendly and warm.

Seeing the fruit of your hardwork is enough to make Papa proud. Dads are working to provide the best.
And my husband was able to achieve a goal partially---by starting out great, giving our son what's suppose to be given on time.

There's more to come before we an say, we did it. Right now, all we're concentrating at is the present.

Sweet Nothings...A New Look

The new look indicated a new beginning for this site. I can now finally say that I official have a site. This is my first to have a permanent design. And this is the most rewarding thing I received this week. I was worried since Monday because my son is sick with Flu...I did have the time to make some drops but I never posted that much. But no worries it is just an ordinary Flu.

One evening of this week, I went through my blog and decided to ask Ms. Carlota of My Web Blog.Com for a header and a signature. I was just planning for these 2, but she gave me more and something better.

Ms. Carlota is one of the kindest here in the blogosphere. I mean, I was wondering that she might be busy with something more important. But she gave time on this layout. I greatly appreciate it...My big and warmest hug for this kind gesture.

She even gave me a bonus---a new EC button!

Alice In Wonderland

I have always been a Tim Burton fan. From Johnny Depp, Tim's wife Helena Bonham Carter. The partnership and tandem is just amazing and works perfectly. I see these actors in almost all of Tim Burton's film, but the always give justice to their characters. They just make this connection that if it's a Burton movie, they should be there.

And today, from Just Jared I found these photos. Plus some updates on Tim Burton's next film, Alice in Wonderland.

This is going to be my first time to watch Anne Hathaway portray a role far different from her usual. I bet she's going to be great.

And who wouldn't bow down at Johnny Depp. This actor is one of the most respected in Hollywood. He's best at everything.

Weekend Snapshot---Fishy Dad's Day

Our weekend was very productive... Starting with Friday, the moment my son and I came home from school, we breezed through the lessons he will be taking up for the week. I was able to finish all my chores on time too.

Saturday, my husband cleaned our 100gallon fish tank. We actually own 2 100G aquariums. But the fishes died one by one. I lost touch of being a "the fish master". I used grow and take care of flower horns and other fresh water fishes. I learned it from my bro-in-law.

This fish is called Frontosa... It was super small when we bought it. Now it grew more than half of its size. We like growing fishes, than buying them big. In a way, we learn to understand and appreciate the process. It is very therapeutic too.

This Parrot-Heart went through several diseases. I guess, it's a fighter inside. It also laid eggs many times. But the babies didn't survive. It's either the water pump sucked them out, or we needed to remove the water or the daddy fish ate them.

Bought this fish in Bio- Research, it was still a baby. And by the way, it took me an hour just to take these photos. I had to wait for the right moment in order to get a clear shot of them.

To end the weekend, we visited my dad for Father's Day. Had lunch in my hometown. Later in the afternoon, we ventured into the biggest gift a Dad could ever get...I will not tell... as much as want to share what it was, I can't... It was so important that I was asked to be there to witness the event. In the evening, my husband treated me and our son to some BBQ and pastries from Dulcinea. When we got home, we shared a cake (cookies and cream) which I bought for him. Then after tucking our son to bed, we drank some beer and watched a good DVD entitled The Seventh Sign, starring Demi Moore.
This year's Father's Day is one of the most relaxing celebrations we had...We just went with the flow. We usually stay around my parents home the whole day... But now, a little change made it more exciting and like I said, relaxing.

Dads are special people
No home should be without,
For every family will agree
They're 'SO NICE TO HAVE ABOUT' -

Of a 'SMALL BOY' and a 'MAN'
And they're very necessary
In every 'FAMILY PLAN'

Sometimes they're most demanding

Desperate For A New Headshot

One thing I noticed since the time I got my DSLR was "me" getting less pictures. I don't actually mind, because I am a Woman of Family now... Most of the time I am the one taking the shots.

To kill time and before retiring for the night. I decided to do a little experimenting. Desperate to have a new headshot. Let me share a picture I formulated through Photoshop.

Hal Urban's 10 Commandments of Common Sense

What a great book of inspiration and guidance to a better living. I got in touch with this reading through my dad. I opened to my parents about my life. I'm at the edge of it right now, getting nervous and confused if I will be able to give justice to my role being a Mother and over-all, as a Parent.

Financially, it is driving me nuts. New priorities came and I forgot that sooner or later I had to adjust and make room for more important things. Life now is different, especially with my son going to school. We're used to spending everytime we go out, we dine in a restaurant often, go shopping, go for spa treatment, anything that will satisfy a person both inside and out.  Now, everytime we are tempted to buy something, even if capable, we choose not to and save the money instead.
 

Part of the comfort and advises my parents gave me was to look into this book. It's reality telling me to use it as an opportunity to grow and learn.

All we need is common sense in order to execute things the right way. And if things are done properly and "right", then there's no need to fear on what's in store for us in the future. The pretty part about this reading? it teaches us to go back to the Scriptures as guidance. Faith.

"They're hard to put into practice, but when we do, the rewards are beyond description." As to what the Author, Hal Urban experienced. He hopes that the result will be the same for his readers.

There's more to this, a copy is going to be worth it. It's going to be an everyday Bible full of reminders and words of encouragement as we go through a normal day with trials as part of it.

The 10 Commandments:

Don't be seduced by popular culture. It prevents you from thinking of yourself.

Don't fall in love with money and possessions. It will make you greedy and shallow.

Don't use destructive language. It hurts other as well as yourself.

Don't judge other people. It's better to work on your own faults.

Don't let anger get out of control. It can wreck relationships and ruin lives.

Keep a positive outlook on life. It's the first step towards joy.

Bring out the best in other people. It's better to build up than tear down. Have impeccable integrity. It brings peace of mind and a reputation of honor.

Help those in need. It is really better to give than to receive.

Do everything in love. It's the only way to find true peace and fulfillment.

Health Update

I am very thankful and grateful for the care and concern my blogger friends showed with regards to my health situation.

I am truly blessed to have you guys...

For an update, aside from my regular vitamins, I am taking an Iron supplement ( Ferrous Sulfate) 2 tablets every after meal. I consulted with my dad if I should see a doctor. But he suggest to stay with my regular meds. Our family, as much as possible, we try to keep healthy by going natural. We try to stay away from hospitals and clinics.

Seeing a doctor or a professional is not a bad idea. It is actually the best way. Based on some of my experiences, most of the time, they tend to look beyond and give advises and stuff to make us stay longer. Its becoming more like a business instead of providing health care. I'm not saying all doctors or hospitals.

Knowing the symptoms was already an advantage. Most likely, a set of medications/treatment will follow. Lucky if there's a home treatment available.

As explained earlier, it was my fault why I got into such situation. I thought that I'm okay since it hasn't been happening for the past year...Now, I promise to get back to my regular Iron in- take especially during my monthly period. It's pure negligence on my part. And it will not happen again.

I am still considering seeing a doctor sooner or later... It's much better to keep healthy, by not feeling a single pain whether it comes naturally or not. Hugs for you guys!

-A Blog Entry-

I just had one of the most life threatning experience regarding my health last night.

Yesterday, came the first day for my monthly period. I spent my Sunday as a regular day. We went and visited my parents. My dad prepared Crispy Pata and went home early in the evening. Around 10pm, before sleeping, I felt some numbness trailing from the back of my head to my upper right arm and to the upper right part of my leg. The head area was painful. But for my extremities, it wasn't pain at all. The numbness itself made it too uncomfortable for me, that I had to kick my leg to be able to feel something.

I asked my husband to take my blood pressure, thinking that it went high because of the Pata. The result was exactly the opposite. My BP went down to 112/65 0r 69. Then I realize my monthly period had something to do with it. Symptoms for high and low blood pressure are the same. And with a history of being anemic, that explained it all.

For the past months, I never experienced this. My diastolic went to as low as 58 sometime in 2008. I got too relaxed and didn't realize for the possibilities: That it may happen again. Especially everytime I'll be having my monthly period.

What if I slept with a low blood pressure, will I still wake up the following day?

Weekend Snapshot---In Celebration of The 111th Philippine Independence Day

We enjoyed a long weekend! My husband went on leave Thursday. So can you imagine we had 4 days straight of pure loafing.

We went shopping for food and supplies. It was really a blessing to be able to go to Farmers Market with somebody (my husband) who can help carry my purchases. I got everything we need.

Friday, I continued watching part II of Meteor Garden...I wish it will never end. I'm down to the last 4 episodes.

Saturday we went to the QC Circle to have a relaxing stroll. It was nice to revisit this place again. We would usually hang out at the park of the Memorial Circle. Our last visit was last year. Same month. The time when I was wishing to have a nicer camera.
We had ice cream, and snacks in a local store within the premises. It was great to visit The Circle again. I just love watching the people play sports, families bond, children running around and even photographers doing their stuff. The place is very family-friendly which can contribute to a healthy bonding.

Afterwards, we took my sister around the UP Campus. She will be taking her entrance exam there this August, we made her feel the college atmosphere. Walked to the Oblation Statue and took some pictures.

The Meteor Fever

Here's the real reason why I seldom blog lately. The Meteor Fever is back! Instead of blogging and making drops, I was on Meteor Garden Marathon during my free time for the past 2 weeks.

When Meteor Garden was first shown last 2002, I didn't internalized the story very well. Thinking, that it was more for the kids than people my age. I did watch a bit. But didn't care that much.

And now, Abs- Cbn once again adapted another show similar to Meteor Garden, called "Boys Over Flowers".

This time, I was able to follow the story. Both Boys Over Flower, and Meteor Garden shown on Abs-Cbn are based on the famous Manga series Hana Yori Dango.

Out of curiosity, I looked up on Youtube episodes of Meteor Garden in order to compare the two adaptations. See difference here

Cast of Boys Over Flower

Though both are based from an original series, they have big differences that made the two enjoyable to watch. Boys Over Flowers is more wholesome. Jandi as the lead actress portrayed a balanced role than Shancai of Meteor Garden. Jandi added entertainment by being funny. Both girls are good actresses. As for the boys, Boys Over Flowers gave a different feel.

Gu Jun Pyo who's the counter part was Daoming Si, was a bit stiff but gave class to the character, as to how a rich boy should be living. On the other hand, Jerry Yan, did a great job acting as a childish- brat (if there's such term), that he turned out to be more charming.

With the role of Lei, played by Vic Zhou in Meteor Garden, he wasn't as conversive and interesting compared to Ji Hoo of Boys Over Flower. But again, both actors were very good in their own way and they stood out.

Over-all, both adaptations are great to watch. With Meteor Garden, it was nice to finally understand the story. "I don't like Ye-Sha!" hehehe!!!

Food Blog Now Accepting Ads

Why is that so, if you might ask. Due with this site's PR gone down. I wasn't able to meet my purpose. I decided to post ads because I want to earn extra for myself. I was planning to use my ad money for personal purchases online, without using a credit card.

The expenses I enjoyed was turning My Multiply to Premium, and the first Photobook I made. With my food blog getting a PR of 2, I decided to take advantage of it.

I have this thingy hanging on my list. And it has always been there ( I couldn't make a move to buy it, because I lost ads during the 1st quarter this year. In other words, I failed to meet my expectations. I didn't know that site rankings come and go.

Part of that, I learned a lot of things. I learned to keep track of my blog and became responsible to update it once in a while. I also learned to expand my concepts and approach on making blogs.

I will continue to achieve this goal (buy that thingy of mine, without hurting the family's savings).

It is cheaper to get it online even if you include the shipping fee. Wish me luck.

My food blog will always be the same whether I get ads or not. I also enjoy making ads and share my opinion about their products and stuff. Sometimes, the featured ad is exactly what I need, but I couldn't have it. If not, it ends up as an essential for me.

So either way, I enjoy both scenarios.

We stayed at home again. It has been raining for a week now...

Let me dedicate this WS to my husband. Because he filled our weekend with music. Staying indoors gave him time to finally record some of his compositions. He is a musician by heart and mind.

He particularly loves Jazz.

Played with several artist. And just recently (one weekend October 2008), we watched John Scofield's concert at the Rockwell Tent. John Scofield is very famous in the Jazz genre.
I know little about him, but I can sensed my husband's excitement when he heard he was coming. Last March, we missed watching Mike Stern. Another famous musician. We heard that he played with Dianne Reeves ( Better Days). Now that could have been something big.

I asked him to assemble every guitar gadget he has...I guess his Jazz guitar will tell a lot already. He has 2. And I have a favorite.

This is the thin and lower model of the one above. My husband playing in a party (one weekend December 2008). I find the guitar he used here, sexy. It's simpler. But the other one (above) has greater value.
