Avent Infant Starter Set

Our online baby purchase came in today. One thing that my mom taught me was never to take products that are essential for granted , especially during the first 6 months of the baby.  And on top of the list are feeding bottles. I am very particular when it comes to this matter. Simple, aside from breastfeeding, milk formula is the next option on feeding the baby. And we all know how sensitive these little angels are, as a mother,  it is important for me to use the safest and the most reliable when it comes to baby products.
Avent's been a trusted brand.
1. It's unbreakable
2. It does not contain Bisphenol A (which can cause future health problems)
3. Colic Free
4. and a complete Infant Starter Set was made available
It's been my choice even with my first child.
But before, with my first baby, Avent was only selling a set of 3 bottles. It's good to know that now, they have more options.
I waited for about a month to finally get my hands on this Avent Infant Starter Set. It's the only thing that was missing in my list of essentials for the baby. At first, I was highly considering and was about to purchase a set in a local department store for Php4000 and that does not include a Milk Powder Dispenser, a Bottle to First Cup Trainer and a Newborn Silicone Pacifier. Then, my husband suggested that we search online for possible sellers. You know what, I totally forgot that I can go online anytime and he was right, there were tons selling Avent products, not to forget Amazon.com. I was like, thank God I didn't buy the one in the department store! because online, this Avent Starter Set is being sold for a very affordable price of Php2200 and it came with some bonuses.

This Infant Starter Set contains the following:
2--- 9oz/ 260ml feeding bottles
3--- 4 oz/ 125ml feeding bottles
A Milk Powder Dispenser
A Bottle Cleaner
Bottle to First Cup Trainer
Newborn Silicone Pacifier

Now I can say that we are officially ready!

W0W's Been Keeping Me Busy Lately

No I haven't given birth to my second child yet.
No I wasn't out doing any last minute Christmas Shopping.
No, I wasn't cooking...
And Yes, I am playing online again this time under a new World of Warcraft guild.
My husband and I purposely got ready for the baby about 2 months ago. That way, on my 9th month, I won't be thinking of random stuff anymore. All we have to do is wait whenever the baby is ready to rock 'n' roll. We both want to be relaxed as we welcome our second child this month.

I enjoy playing with my new guild. A close friend invited me and my husband to move to a different realm in the Warcraft Universe. I was originally from Cho'gall. I gotta be honest, the players I work with are more friendly and they're nicer in the realm where we're at right now. There's less stress and we can work on things like raids, dungeons and even plain questing without any complaints.

So W0W has been keeping me busy lately...

Keeping The Christmas Spirit

November 25 exactly a month from now, we will be one  with the rest of the world celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. It is the time of the year when everyone is very excited to buy decorations and presents to share with love ones and friends. The coolest season within the year when everyone's on break spending quality time with the family, joyous moments with friends and rewarding oneself with happiness and fulfillment. This year, my family and I are looking forward to 2 things.
1. Christmas
2. The birth of` our  baby boy Immanuel.
By the looks of it, preparing for both occasions is going to be a big task. I started organizing by sticking to our motif  Red & Gold. All in all, for the past 7 years we have been celebrating Christmas, we have 4 sets of colors to mix and match. Blue, Silver, Red and Gold. Red & Gold has always been presented as the colors of Christmas so we're doing it again. The Christmas menu will turn out to be the simplest, thinking that I might give birth on Christmas Day itself. If that's going to be the case, a small salo-salo in the hospital will do, and when we get home, my mom offered to prepare for a double celebration. Whatever may come, we will make sure that there's still something special served on the table this holiday season. Gifts? that's the hardest part... God help me because each day as I reach my due date, it gets heavier and heavier for me. It's hard to move around the mall searching for the perfect gift for our friends and love ones, especially with the crowd too. It may look difficult for a pregnant woman to handle these things, but as I assess the situation, you know what, if one will greatly consider that sometimes we have to give way from the things we're used to, the over-all scenario will turn out to be relaxing, there's no stress at all. My priority now is the baby that I'm about to deliver soon. And yes, God is helping me because for starters, I was able to create an atmosphere here at home clearly stating both, that Christmas is just around the corner and a baby is coming along.

An advance present to our family this Holiday Season. Another extraordinary experience given to me as I become a Mother to 2 little boys. To my family, as we celebrate Life this year.

So how's your preparation for the holidays coming along?

21 November 2011

When you're stuck with nothing to do, listening to your favorite music... bored? maybe... fine, this happens. With just one click from viewing an old rose themed template to plain white.  I accidentally removed my old template without any backup. I got carried away when I saw the Google blah, blah, blah, new look check it out thing. I didn't know that if you click on a new template it will automatically apply (Dynamic Views). And on the upper right corner, that's where it says (back up/ restore) I tried restoring but nothing happened. Back up? I guess it's too late for that. And after my PC broke down last week, I am still in the process of gathering my old files including the template Ms. Carlota of My Web Blogs (the design of my permanent template since 2009). It sucks being stuck in this kind of dilemma. Oh man!

Anyway, just for thought and as I pull something good in this situation... Maybe it was meant to happen since my header was the picture of my son (my only child then), and considering that I'll be giving birth to my second child soon, I think it's about time to change and make space for the new members of my family. My second baby boy and of course our adorable Beagle Emo joining my eldest son.

Everything that happened tonight was crazy with mixed feelings. I felt sad because my old template was a gift from a fellow blogger. Then suddenly,  I was feeling hopeful and creative with a little hint of excitement after realizing what's about to take place on December. My life will change again. It's a start, it's an opportunity to share stories, (new stories) about my extraordinary life.

I say: I'm ready to introduce this new chapter of my life...

The Extraordinary Life of an Extraordinary Woman

Another Flip Flop Story: Love Toeberries

For the past weeks, I've been hanging out with my sisters. And when the youngsters take leadership on organizing an activity within the day, surely, the older ones will get a high dose of  what's latest in the market. One of those great finds we had are these cute pairs of  Toeberries. I have been seeing Toeberries in every local department store since last year. Well, it didn't attract me as much, because I still have my old Havaianas.

As far as I'm concerned, I stopped buying expensive rubber slippers in 2009. 1 or 2 pairs were enough.  With my younger sisters, they told me that they're not bothered whether their flip flops are from a famous brand or simply locally made. The important thing for them is that they're able to pull a whole outfit without trying too hard.

So how did I end getting myself some Toeberries? Read On...
I was at my usual weekend visit to my see my parents. That day, my husband had to go somewhere, which lead me and my son to take public transport going to my hometown. I was wearing my super old pair of black Havaianas Top. I arrived just in time at my parents' house, my slippers finally gave way and said goodbye. So I was in a dilemma where I had to buy temporary slippers just for the day. That's when I went to the nearest mall with my sisters and was able to find these cute Toeberries.
I bought 2 because it was being sold for a very affordable price of Php99 each. Very plain but they're adorable, especially for those who loves to try anything cute regardless of the brand. They also have it in purple. Comfort? I'd say 100% comfortable and it's soft.
0o0o
In line with my Flip Flop story, just this month, 2 of my oldest Havaianas died on me... I was hoping that it will last for another 2 or 3 years... But hey,  for a pair of rubber slippers,  4 years is pretty long right?. I think they served their purpose well...

With this...

Now it's time to hoard some new pairs from All Flip Flops! Don't forget their last call, 40% off for a minimum of 2 pairs of Havaianas. Promo runs until November 30 2011.

My Favorite Scarf

Here in the Philippines a scarf works as an accessory. With the climate we have, the thinnest scarf that you can find is going to be the most applicable for everyday use. I started wearing a scarf around my neck middle of this year. Since the time I found out that I am pregnant and knowing that I'll often be wearing dresses and maternity clothes, I finally was able to put my scarves into good use.
This particular scarf has been with me for almost 3 years. I bought it at the department store of ShoeMart. I was kinda in a rush when I was looking for a scarf then... I thought that this scarf is going to be for one time use, but it turned out to be my favorite. I like pairing it with my favorite Liz Claiborne Villager Purse. Actually, both the purse and the scarf goes well with any of my dresses. Wearing a scarf makes an outfit look more interesting. Well,  I can't say more fashionable... maybe that will depend on the person. I know in other countries, scarves are associated as a main accessory for the cold seasons of Winter and Fall, especially the thick ones. I guess I've met the very same purpose. Because as we go near December (when our Philippine climate is a bit cool), I make use of my scarf instead of a jacket. It gives me the very same warmth and comfort. At the same time, a scarf is easier and lighter to bring around.

A Short Update

Personal Computer's busted... trying to save files which includes: recent photos, word documents, edited entries for my blogs and games. It's really weird, we're still figuring out what caused this sudden breakdown. But definitely it wasn't a virus. Please bear, will update blogs soon. Thank you for dropping by and have a nice day :)

10 November 2011

It's so nice to wake up in the morning and the first thing you see in front of the mirror is your face glowing and you haven't even put anything on yet. It's your all- natural look, simple and your silly smile makes it extraordinary.

What a fine way to start my day...
Happy Thursday Everyone

Saturday Chillin' Out

It was a rainy weekend when one of our friends invited everyone for a meet up in one of the restaurants in High Street Fort Bonifacio. It's been a long since we saw each other. It's like every month we make plans to see each other, but for my husband and me, as we all know, I have been preserving my strength since the first trimester of my pregnancy. For most, they've been pretty busy with work, so none of our plans pushed through for the past months.

With our recent get together, 2 of my husband's high school classmates joined us for the very first time.

To Anne and Amanda: It was really nice to finally meet you guys. Wish we could have spent more time last Saturday.
Our rendezvous last Saturday started with dinner at the Texas Road House. Our get together was also in celebration of Rachel and Khamila's birthday. Quite a treat I must say... Thank you guys! Of course, I stuffed myself with different fruit juices. The guys had beer and boy they make me jealous. Ha! and yes, definitely, we will have a  whole new session once I give birth, can't wait to have a taste of that San Miguel Premium again.
The night was filled with laughter. It was raining hard, it was already late, but we took our time just hanging out talking about married life, being single and the joy of having kids. It's one person inspiring another.
As for me and my husband, we can say that our short vacation break was well worth it. Especially, that we were able to spend time with our friends as our grand finale.

Now It's The Fingernails

After mastering my own toenails, here I am trying my best to do my fingernails. When it comes to color, I prefer lighter shades. A nude polish is highly considered. I finally thought that I needed to get my fingernails done too with or without the help of the experts. I'm not really used to having my fingernails done. Maybe once a month but most of the time, there's got to be an occasion for it. It all started when I was in college, in line with my course I don't get my fingernails done because I handle food most of the time. After graduating I took a breather and was able to experience getting regular manicure. I must admit, it is fun to get both manicure and pedicure with your favorite shade.
That breather turned out to be a short one because I went back to school and took up Nursing. And in the medical field, sanitation is part of our #1 concern, so I ended leaving my nails bare and short again. When I got married, I maintained my short and fuzzy- looking fingernails because I'm handling a kid. So much stories about my fingernails right?

People would tell me, "have your nails done once in a while, it would be cool". And I really appreciate the concern these people are showing for my itsy bitsy set of nails. So I began doing my own fingernails 3 weeks ago. Like my toenails, A Pedicure At Home it may not be as perfect like the ones being done by the expert, but it turned out just fine. Now I'm ready to go and show- off my little work of art and I might just start shopping for  nail polishes in different shades too.

Lovely Stroll at Paseo de Sta. Rosa With Rachel

We left Tagaytay City after lunch then we decided to contact our friend Rach who's from Sta. Rosa to meet up with us at Paseo de Sta. Rosa. Sta. Rosa Laguna has been a frequent stop for my family. Enchanted Kingdom, outlet shops, parks and of course, it's the easiest way going to Tagaytay City and Nasugbu Batangas. We began our sunny afternoon by making a quick stop at Nuvali. The sun was pretty high that day, since Nuvali is still being developed, we decided to move to Paseo de Sta. Rosa.
At Paseo de Sta. Rosa, we were able to have a good look of the outlet shops. By the way, it's one of the ideal places to buy a nice pair of  Havaianas, they have an outlet shop for All Flip Flops in Paseo. We spent most of the afternoon at Starbucks. And as usual, we ended up making plans for another trip out of town, but this time, with the rest of the Montessori Gang.
Rachel toured us around the spots we haven't been to in Paseo. All the way at the back, Paseo was turned into something like High Street in Fort Bonifacio. Only, most of the stores found in the newly developed Paseo are outlet shops, and I say, what a SPLENDID idea!

New Finds, awesome shops: These are actually the stores we go to even in Manila. And it's really cool to know a place where we can go shopping with discounts here and there.

BENCH Depot: Inside BENCH,  I found a Charles & Keith depot, P999 for any pair of your choice.
Payless Shoesource: Though we have several Payless Shoe Stores here Manila, I got excited when I found the pair of flats that I love and it's available in 3 different colors. I bought the red one before, now I want the other colors too.
Nike Factory Outlet
Gap & Banana Republic Outlet
Marks & Spencer Outlet
Rudy Project: Where my husband found the Luminox watch he's been looking for.
It was wonderful to end our short vacation hanging out with a good friend while having a peaceful afternoon of coffee (coffee- free frapp for me that is) making discoveries and spending the day just sharing jokes, making plans and just simply living the day as it is.

There and Back Again At The Cliffhouse

The Cliffhouse has always been our favorite spot every time we visit Tagaytay City. The Cliffhouse located along General Emilio Aguinaldo Highway Tagaytay City, offers a more private venue for tourists and folks of Batangas City.
We discovered The Cliffhouse through a very close friend of ours. Early this year, my husband and I spent a short getaway with our friends in Tagaytay City. Before going home, we decided to make a quick run of  the places that we haven't  visited in Tagaytay, and one of them was The Cliffhouse. I consider this tourist spot as a place of Zen. It's quiet, it's clean, the view is spectacular, restaurants within the area offers scrumptious dishes... everything a person is looking in a quick getaway from city life is here.
This is the perfect choice if you're after a relaxing vacation. One can spend the whole afternoon, feeling the cool breeze while staring at the beautiful Taal Volcano.

I wanted to share this entry because 2 weekends in a row, I spent  most of  my time with my family at The Cliffhouse.
1. 2 weeks ago, we took our balikbayan relative from GA on a lovely trip to Tagaytay.
2. A week after, we went back to spend our long weekend in Tagaytay too.
Here are some random shots taken from The Cliffhouse.
Taken near our favorite spot, the very place where we first tried some Mochi from Mochiko.
Overlooking the whole Taal Lake, great view of the sunset too.
Everytime we go there, this white chair is always empty. It feels like for every visit we made, this particular spot was made ready for us. I mean, the place is always full with tourists and guests, and they just walk around this spot. And once we're about to leave, that's the time visitors rush just to get this seat. Nice right?
And this photo was the most recent. Taken by the fish pond. We decided to spend our long weekend in Tagaytay just to get rid of the stress and traffic within the city. We made the right decision. We left for Tagaytay City late in the afternoon. We looked for a hotel, had dinner and then we spent the rest of our night at The Cliffhouse.

I have about a month to go before I give birth. My husband and I plan to make the most of the time remaining by going on relaxing trips such as this.

Next trip: Laiya Batangas!

Celebrating An Extraordinary Life

In celebration of this blog's 3rd Anniversary, after a picture or two of my baby bump, here I am again, this time, with a big smile sharing how happy and grateful I am for this wonderful journey. In a few months, I will be heading into the brand new world of being a mother, not only to a child but to two precious little boys.
As I Enter My Third Trimester... I thank the Lord for giving me this extraordinary journey...
How Extraordinary?
It was a challenge at first but I was graced with peace of mind that everything will turn out just fine... and here I am, officially celebrating my 7th month being pregnant. I can't wait for the day when I'm going to be holding both my little boys. Motherhood is a gift and a blessing. The whole process of child bearing makes a woman's world stop and makes her glance at what life is all about. The purpose and reason why she was created by God and the mystery behind the overwhelming joy of the experience.
I radiate love and happiness.
Everything is getting better every day.
Right now, I am having this unexplainable level of happiness... maybe because when everyone else is going to celebrate the holidays their usual way, here I am at with a bigger family, celebrating not only the birth of Christ on December... but also the birth of my very own son at this special time of the year... A bigger family, a new beginning, a whole new level, understanding and appreciating the deeper value of life and love and another path on becoming a better person worthy of the new life granted by our Creator.

The Magic of Old and New Baby Clothes

I would like to apologize for not being to keep this blog updated for the past weeks. We have been busy preparing for the "Big Day". As I reach my 7th month, I'm in the process of preparing the things needed for the baby. Aside from the clothes, my husband and I are also making our house spacious. Getting rid of the things that are not being used. Moving drawers, getting rid of old clothes in order to give way for new ones. Sacrificing our personal spaces in the master's bedroom so we can convert it to a baby corner. Everything that's been going on gets us even more excited.

It sure is a blessing to have another baby boy around. When we found out that the next baby is going to be a boy, I immediately thought of a new theme, color combination, the works! then we realize that we still have old baby stuff from my previous pregnancy. We were able to keep them clean and was able to preserve the quality of the baby clothes. With my second pregnancy, we decided to stick on the practical side by recycling Franky's baby clothes. Well, most baby clothes, especially those from 0-3 months are new, but, luckily, I was able to keep Franky's (my eldest son) baby clothes from 6 mons. up to 2 years they all look new.
It's been 7 years, honestly,  I feel like a first time mom. As I was going through the first batch of the things needed, I did missed on a lot. Had to call my mom to double check and even brought her with me to help me shop.
With my second pregnancy, not that we're not prepared, but with the sensitive state of my first trimester, I had to give way and settle with whatever I can come up with the small amount of time given to be able to go around and search for the baby sweet nothings that my heart desires. I know it's not yet too late, after giving birth, that's the perfect time to bundle up the baby with so much cuteness. One of the great finds we had for baby Immanuel was this set of baby beddings.
My husband was actually the one who found it. We went our separate ways at the baby section of the department store and then this... Being married to a musician, this is an extraordinary find for us, I mean for him.
Baby Clothes of Franky (my eldest son)
Still nice right? all we need are some baby shorts, pants and shoes to match them.

It doesn't end here, after the clothes, of course we have the bags. Again, we didn't have to buy new baby bag/s. I bought the baby suitcase 7 years ago. I just thought to be different. A baby suitcase instead of the typical shoulder bag. Later on, more bags came in from our relatives in America. Don't you just love it when everyone gets pretty excited and all of a sudden cute stuff starts pouring in.
With a new baby coming, I was thinking of getting myself a new "Mommy Bag". It's something personal, and I'd always thought that a new bag can wait. But...
A few months back, my husband came home with this surprise... I haven't used it yet. I'm waiting for the big day, the day when I'll be filling another "Mommy Bag" with all sorts of stuff,  and this time, for my 2 boys.

It's not always about the new things that we can get or buy. The magic of mixing both old and new things brings the joy and excitement of remembering some memories from the past linking them together with new beginnings. It does give family life a more meaningful perspective, and sometimes, big surprises comes along the way... and I love surprises!

Wishing The Sun Will Shine This Weekend

It's difficult to move around especially when the weather is not cooperating. Friday is here once again. I am going to take things positively. I know the sun will give us a warm smile this weekend. This week, I wasn't able to post anything. Though I have stuff to share, but time won't really permit me. This is just a quick recap of what has been happening with my week. Of course, in terms of household chores, I was busy finishing my laundry. Doing it almost everyday, because I couldn't load everything in just one spin, especially now that my tummy's bigger.

It's been raining hard, so most of my tasks were held for 3 days. Rescheduling day trips with my husband's relatives who came from Georgia and the stressful fact that I missed my doctor's appointment for this month (which was moved later today). It's one thing on top of the other...

I just wish that sun will brighten up our weekend...
Woke up early today with this blog, sending a big smile for a lovely weekend. It stopped raining... I'll start my day by having our humble car washed, then will be spending the day here at home, hoping that I can update my blogs some more. Later, I will be seeing my doctor and see how the baby's doing, will shop for more baby clothes. I just know that from this day, it is going to be dry, warm and sunny. The sky is clear... my day is going to be magnificent.

A Pedicure At Home

It's a task I promised myself, that whatever the situation may be... it is going to be a must to get at least a pedicure once a month. When I was a teenager, I tried doing my toenails and fingernails myself. But as always it didn't turn out as nice compared to how a professional does it. From then on, I relied on experts to do my nails. At this time I had to make an exception. Since I didn't get my anti-tetanus shot for my present pregnancy, aside from hair treatments, manicure and pedicure are also not advisable. Later on, it became uncomfortable for me looking at my sore feet with an unexplainable- looking toenails. I can live without having my fingernails done... but my toenails... well, that's a different story.
To make the long story short, I ended up cleaning and painting my own toenails. I have been doing it since June. I don't want to risk getting exposed to pedicure instruments used in salons, but at the same time, I still want my feet to look good. It's very basic, cleaning, brushing, cutting of nails, disinfecting then I paint it, usually with a deep shade of red. It may not be as perfect as the ones done from the salon. Personally, I think I'm doing a good job. Well, at least to make my feet look more presentable (lol!) it's still better without nothing at all. I never thought that I'll be able to do it, I'm so bad when it comes to nail polish application... It's one of those days when I was left with no other choice but to do it myself. It's fun... It's relieving to know that I don't need to go to the salon all the time to have my nails done.

One of My Inspirations On Portraiture

Portraiture has always been my choice when it comes to photography. When I was given the chance to own a digital slr, I took advantage of it. I saw the inner beauty of photography itself through the people I take pictures of. There are times when I'd really want to study and pursue a career in this field. But time won't permit me, so I try my best to at least inspire myself with works from other photographers, especially those who are known to specialize in portraiture. One of them is a portrait photography North Shore. He is a family portrait photographer also known as in baby photography Sydney

Nicholas Fiennes employs his knowledge of light and composition to create timeless portraits of you and the ones you love.
Nicholas's fine art portrait sessions can be captured in a variety of settings to suit your individual preference, either in his studio, outdoors or in your own home. He doesn't rush the process needed to capture genuine, artistic expressions. Each session lasts approximately two hours to fully capture you in images you'll cherish for a lifetime.

It is such an honor to be able to do this entry. It brought out my interest on taking portraits again. Inspiring because in a few months, I will get the chance to take snapshots of my newly born. First time that I'll be doing it and feels so great knowing that this time around,  I will be capturing moments of not just 3 but 5 of us in the family.

All For Plus Size Clothing

Ever since I gave birth to my first child, I started buying plus size clothing. I've gained so much weight and up to the time before I got pregnant with my second child, I was having a hard time to get my old body back. Basing it on genetics, I think I inherited my big structure from my mother's side. We kinda have this thing with big hips and butts as we age, especially after having kids. Wearing of plus size clothing doesn't mean you're fat. It's simply wearing the right size for your body structure. And it looks good and definitely, it will make a woman feel more comfortable and confident if she's wearing the right size. The trend on plus size womens clothing has gone up. I see girls wearing big dresses, tops and even baggy jeans and shorts nowadays that's why I'm always confident because it is now made as a fashion statement. There are affordable plus size clothing in almost every department store. It is also available online, womens plus size tops in different designs, colors and style.

Plus size clothing has benefits too. When it's a bit loose, it's lighter in a way that it is flowy, perfect for skinny jeans and other fitted bottoms. Now that I am pregnant with my second child, I knew in an instant that I will need less maternity clothing this time around. Thank God for my plus size tops and dresses. Let me share a photo or 2.
I bought this top way back in 2009. I couldn't believe that I will still be using it up to this time. I wear it with a pair of black leggings. It's one of my most comfortable plus size tops that I wear even when 6 months pregnant.
The dress in the picture is one of my favorite dresses too. Not only it function as a dress, but I can also wear it with skinny jeans and leggings. The top part of the picture was taken early 2011, I wasn't pregnant then. I like how the dress hugs the lower part of my body. Like I said earlier, wear the right size for your body and you will never think that you're too big or too small. To connect the lower part of the picture, though I the picture wasn't taken in full, just to share, it's my present snapshot with the very same dress and I am 5 months pregnant, turning 6. Even if pregnant, the dress isn't tight at all, still flowy.

A Slice Of His Birthday Celebration

So here's a slice of my son's birthday celebration today. It just so happen that his special day fell on a school day, I told my husband that I don't want my son to miss school and at the same time, my husband has a very important function at work that he can't pass, so we didn't make actual plans on how to celebrate it. Pretty odd right? usually even any of our special day falls on a busy week, we still find time to celebrate even in the simplest way. But I guess, with the load we have this time around, we needed to make some adjustments.
This morning, I woke up early and prepared my son's favorite breakfast, which is Spam and eggs. Note: "SPAM and EGGS" not Prem and Eggs. That's why in the picture above, it's obvious that with the way Franky looks--- he just woke up. But the surprise didn't end with his favorite breakfast. After eating, I took out a plate of 2 cake slices from Banapple. But the day before, I brought him to Banapple and made him choose any cake he wants. He pointed at both the Banoffee pie and Blueberry Cheesecake. To continue, after his meal this morning, I took out the slices of cakes he chose with 7 candles. Of course the real cake will follow when he celebrates his birthday this coming weekend.
This slice of his birthday celebration is one of the most memorable. Even if he blew his candles early in the morning, I saw the glow and happiness radiating from my son's face. He was very excited to eat and share his cake with us his Mama and Papa. It goes to show how my son has matured. I don't see a little boy anymore... but a big boy still innocent and love is overflowing from within him. I can't wait for the moment when he gets to see and touch his younger brother for the first time. What more...
To Franky,
Happy, happy Birthday! May God bless you and shower you with protection, wisdom and more love as you grow your way into this world. Papa and Mama, your Lolas and Lolo, your Aunts and Uncles and Cousins are always here for you. We love you so much!!!

Great Ticket Deals

It has been a long time since I've watched a concert and even a game in a real venue. This coming October, there will be various artists who will be coming to have a concert. Sometimes, even if I know for a fact that I won't be able to watch, I still browse online to see what's new, updating myself for possible future activity with my family. And most of the time, I end up sharing it to my friends and relatives who has all the intention of watching a show. There are times, even if I'm not being asked, once I find something new and interesting in the entertainment industry, I send my friends a message thinking they might have plans of watching. In an instant, I am labeled as the info person.

Lately, I have been searching for ticket rates online and to my surprise, not only I found websites that offers concert tickets like Justin Bieber Tickets. They also have ticket sales on New York Islanders Tickets, Walt Disney Concert Hall Tickets, Rose Bowl Tickets and Chicago Blackhawks Tickets in one website. It was quite a find. It's the perfect source for our friends and families in America who loves going to concerts, people who are interested in Broadway events and sports.

GP Recruitment and Process

I have several friends who are gps. I really didn't know the weight of the whole process for their applications   until I was able to come up with a research of my own and found out that for every individual that specializes on this field should undergo a specific process that includes: gp exam, gp application , gp recruitment and the gpst stage 3.
Under the Oxford medical group a GP Exam can be accessed online. To access free downloadable guide to the GP Application process for 2011/2012 just enter your name and email address . Once you have passed the initial stage of the GPST process, having met all the eligibility criteria, you will now progress into stage 2, which is based on clinical scenarios  to assess your clinical competences. The first stage in the recruitment process for GP specialist training consists of an online application form. It is used to assess your eligibility with regards to the basic eligibility criteria as laid out by the NRO the form requires mainly personal, qualification and professional career information, as opposed to establishing your clinical competencies which is assessed in Stage 2.

During the Stage 3 GPST-GPVTS Selection process you will be examined using a series of tasks required to test various skills, attributes and or course knowledge that you have. Value of Laptop Repairs

My brother works in an educational institute. The value of having a laptop is really a big deal. It makes his work easier, including lesson plans, being able to to get updated information and record wise, he can keep track of his student records. Just recently, my brother's laptop broke and he is now experiencing a hard time coping with relation to his job. He consulted me and my husband for reliable and trustworthy laptop service centers. At first I suggested that he'd bring back his laptop where he purchased it and at the same time, research on the laptop brand's service centers.

He ended up bringing his laptop to a service center but the asking price was too much. Let's say, it's equivalent if you buy a brand new one with upgraded specifications. We continued searching, and as I was browsing online, I landed on a website that offers not only laptop repair, but they also cater to tablets, Apple products, data recovery , Malware, mobile phones and even video game consoles. Free diagnosis for most mail-in and local computer repair san diego, data recovery and electronics repair, from the most experienced technology experts.

Going back to my dilemma, I told my brother, that with his line of work, immediate repair from the right experts is much needed. So I referred this website to my brother. It will serve as a guide. Based on the amount of information I read, this laptop repair san diego is one of the most reliable online.

Getting Ready On Becoming A Big Brother

This has got to be the greatest find I had over the weekend. As my son and I were browsing at some children's books, he handed this  to me... I was really touched when I saw the title of the book. My son, on his own understands that he is going to be a big brother soon. Dear Baby: Letters from Your Big Brother by Sarah Sullivan (Goodreads Author), Paul Meisel (Illustrator) is about a young boy, who recorded memories like a scrapbook about his journey being a big brother. It's like a baby book, only, the story and illustration is based on the point of view of a child as the big brother to his younger sibling. Drawings, photos, thoughts about his life being a big brother.
It's the perfect book for my eldest son. I know he is very excited to see his younger brother. I do want to give him the responsibility on taking good care of his little brother. I'm just elated with the thought that my eldest son is getting ready for the time when he is not the only child anymore, but a big brother to a family member who'll be joining us soon.

Milestones of Motherhood--- Surviving My First Trimester

I never thought that my next pregnancy is going to be this sensitive. The baby is fine and well, but it's the whole process that's malfunctioned during my first trimester. Thank God I survived it! Now as I enter my second trimester, my doctor wants me to shape up some more because I'm am literally sharing nutrients with my child. At 4 months, we found out that I am underweight. Which is entirely inappropriate, since I should be gaining weight for me and the baby. I just couldn't believe it. With my first child, I did also have some weight issues, but not as alarming as  to what I went trhough with my second pregnancy. Like what my mom (mother of 5) told me, expect that each pregnancy is going to be different from each other. There will be times when it's going to be easy, moments when it's going to be difficult and sometimes, just plain extraordinary.

I do believe with what my mom said. Even if I know myself well, because I look at myself as a strong woman and that's why I was really surprised when I found out how sensitive the first trimester was with my second pregnancy.

It was so delicate. I wasn't even allowed to take long walks and my regular stretching was discontinued by my doctor, I wasn't literally allowed to do chores or even move out of the bed. It also includes times when I had a hard time eating.

Meaning: I eat less or I don't eat at all.
Note: there were times

Based on my experience, I view weight loss during the first trimester quite normal because the body is adjusting. Food cravings, morning sickness, some sleepless nights.

I'm glad I'm over with it. With my recent visit to my doctor, what she told me and my husband were all good news. The gender of our baby, a good cardiac rate... everything is normal. We can actually feel the relief radiating from my doctor. She was very excited to take the picture of our little angel. She's the best Ob-Gyne for me. She's taking good care of me like a daughter.

Still, my doctor reminded me to eat a lot or gain at least 3 lbs. within the month. I guess, I am now on the right path. I feel heavier and in most of my pictures, I look normal. Unlike 3 months ago, I was really thin. Too thin, that you wouldn't even think I'm pregnant.

Over-all, I will not survive this term without my husband by my side. It was Dolf who stayed beside me when I needed someone stronger than me to hold onto. He became the mother and father to both Franky and the little baby inside my womb. Though he has work to finish, he placed family on top of his priority list. My parents who are still with me, even if I'm already married. They made sure I am well taken cared of. They visited me everyday, called me all the time...  Especially to my mom who experienced 2 miscarriages. that's why her thoughts and her presence are both very important to me.  Our friends who offered prayers so that I can get through all these trials. Everyone was there for us. Even the parents of my friends, they were all very supportive. Lastly, prayers has always been the answer...

Thank you Lord...

Are You A Good Sport?

Sports is one of the things I was very into when I was a teenager. Volleyball, track and field, badminton and even basketball. Predicting the winner of the game would come from all sides of the crowd. Meaning people, betting for their preferred player.

Personally, it's fine to make bets, as long as it is well thought of and it is carried with great responsibility. Some people tend to forget about the risks of betting in general. The gambling world will eat you alive if you don't have the proper knowledge on how to maintain a reliable betting record.  I never experienced sports betting online.  But I did have small instances with sports betting when I was in my 20's. Well, it was just for fun. It's very much available online, from NFL, NBA, Soccer and again, being on the right age follows.  A perfect sports betting spot will always set guidelines, rules and procedures on how to be able to enter and experience sports betting.

For hardcore sports fans, it would be easy to to know if you're on the right track. In betting, there will always be winners and losers. Make sure that you're ready for that. Another thing to remember is to visit the right sports betting spots. Search online for valid betting spots. Websites that will help you move forward in the betting industry and of course, to make every betting experience manageable and worth it.

Lovely Dresses From Dad and Mom

One of things I love the most on being pregnant is staying vibrant even with a big tummy. With my first child, I  enjoyed wearing dresses mixing it with sandals and flats. I make sure that I don't look old  by maintaining an easy and soft vibe with the clothes I wear during pregnancy.
These 2 dresses were given to me for my timely pregnancy. They're not maternity dresses yet they can stretch even for a pregnant woman up to 9 months. The nice part of this entry, both dresses has a story to tell.
Let me start with this  Dress With A Nautical Design From my Mom.
Just last month I went out with my mom to accompany her to go shopping. It was a sudden trip to the mall. It just so happen that she has a party to attend to, and I'm dying with boredom being stuck at home. So we took our time, moving from one boutique to another, we browsed through the racks of the department store too. Looking around I came across this dress with black and white stripes on it. I found it adorable, but that time I thought that it might not be wise to buy it for the simple reason that I'm pregnant and I still have 5 months to go before I give birth. So I passed that day.

At home, while browsing through my favorite fashion magazine, to my surprise I saw a dress similar and it was from Baby Phat , it was gorgeous. I was like: (looking gloomy) "I should have bought the dress and waited until I can finally wear it."  I thought it was already too late for me to go back since there were few stocks left during my last visit.

And when hope was fading away, good news came knocking at my door. My mom bought the dress!!! and in my size too! To make things more wonderful,  it fits me even with my bulging tummy. Like I've mentioned earlier, it is stretchable. At 9 months, I can still wear this dress and especially even after giving birth.

Moving to this Peach Maxi Dress From My Dad
This dress has an extraordinary history. It was given to me first week of April 2011.  I was with my parents when this dress landed on my hands. My parents were out to get new curtains and invited me to come since they'll be shopping near our place. I went and decided to do a little shopping for myself in preparation for our Baler Trip just this recent summer. When I was about to pay, I saw this peach dress inside my basket. I thought, maybe I accidentally placed it to have more choices and in line at the check-out counter was my dad too. I paid for what I bought ( the 2 dresses and 2 swimsuits) and left this peach dress.

I consider this dress as a sign that something exciting will happen for the next months. You know why? because  when my dad asked me: why are you not getting that dress? I answered: well, I only have budget for 2 dresses. So he told me that he'll treat me, he'll buy the Peach dress for me, that I might need it in the future, maybe a baby might come along the way. And after a month, we found out that I am pregnant. I wasn't able to use this dress when we were in Baler, I guess it was really meant for something more special.

My Dad On His 61st Birthday

My dad's birthday celebration this year was extraordinary. Usually, he celebrates his birthday with my younger brother (whose birthday is not far off from his), the whole family's complete, and there's a lot of food on the table. This year, my younger brother gave way, to honor our father. He told us that this time, he wants to give the celebration to our dad alone. Simple, extravagant, we never miss out on celebrating our father's birthday. Just over the weekend, we had an advance celebration. His birthday is today (Tuesday), but since it's a weekday, we decided to move the celebration earlier, so that we  can still make him feel that no matter what, we are here to honor him on his special day.
Today, he is  officially 61 years old. I bought his cake and ask for a single blue candle. Everyone then asked, why 1 candle? I said: because from now on, every year, I thought that his birthday should be celebrated like it's his first. Digits will not matter. As long as we are all here, he is here, every birthday is going to be celebrated as if  we are not aging.
Another extraordinary thing that happened during our celebration was the small program my husband prepared. Well, everyone was surprised including me. I wasn't expecting anything from my husband, I know how he loves and respects my father, but this surprising idea topped my dad's birthday celebration. So my husband asked everyone to share their fondest moments with our dad. My mom started, then I followed, my brother, my husband and my sister.

I remember my dad as a strict father. But now I have my own children to raise, I look back at the things I learned throughout the years when I thought that being "strict" was too much. It all boils down to the fact that all he wanted was for us to grow up as simple human beings, respected and loved by others. When it was my husband's turn to talk, he shared that he saw a lot of my dad in me. Well, being a mother is not easy, I took a lot of things from my father when I got married and started my own family. Discipline, way of living and even on handling money.

As for what I told my dad that evening, I told him that I am very proud to be the daughter of a very respected man. That I know a person, through him who traveled the whole country, the person who has become an educator to his own children when it comes to dealing with life's situations, loops and holes. The person, who taught me to be selfless. The person who showed me the real meaning of hard work. I thanked him for the guidance and never ending love and support that he has given and is still giving my own family. He has always been there for his children. He never left our sides.

To us (with my brothers and sisters), our parents are the most important inspiration we have in our lives and we thank God for giving them to us.

Therapeutic Effects Of Dogs

I started to have a pet when I was a teenager. I was taking care of a cat then. Well, here in the Philippines it is considered as a stray cat. But my family was able to keep it clean and healthy. Cats were pretty much around our house when I was younger.  Then I started breeding hamsters, and Cichlids afterwards. I can say that yes, I am a pet person, but of all the pets to have, I never had a dog until I got married. Early this year, my husband thought of buying us a Beagle and we named him Emo.
As we go near Emo's first year with us, we are now thinking of buying a new dog of different breed. It all started when we noticed that as our Beagle's growing, he becomes more playful. And it's sad to see a fine, sweet dog without a dog playmate. At the same time, my son Franky is also showing interest on having a new puppy around.
My son would often ask us to visit pet stores so he can choose and sometimes, just to have a picture with his preferred pet dog.
Not that he doesn't like Emo, we all love Emo! But it would really be nice to have another dog around. Now, we understand why some people own 4 or 5 dogs. It's wonderful and therapeutic to watch these creatures play. Aside from the entertainment they bring, pets particularly dogs, if well taken cared of show a huge amount of unconditional love by being sweet and playful. That's what we are enjoying right now with our Beagle Emo. My son Franky,  he found an instant playmate in Emo. And by taking care of Emo, it taught my son how to be more responsible. The gestures of a loving dog is just out of this world. My husband, coming from work releases stress by playing with Emo the moment he enters our front door. Emo knows the time my husband is coming in. It amazes us how they can understand our work and the things we humans do. As for me, being the person who feeds him everyday, well, all I can say is... Emo completes me.

Over the weekend, we dropped by the pet area, same place where we bought Emo and Coco. Somewhat, we officially started browsing for a new pet dog. For me, I would like to get a female, standard sized Beagle as partner for Emo. Franky wants a Labrador and my husband is keeping his eyes on a Basset Hound. If we can only afford to get all 3 dogs. That is, if we also have the space (lol!) Anyway, it will probably take a few more months before we can finally get a new pet.

I was getting deep into this entry when I thought of doing a research, looking for well-studied articles that will explain how pets can be beneficial to us humans. I found one and they shared a great amount of information. It is a good website please check it out: Therapeutic Effects Of Pets
