I Dream For A Chevy Cruze

Not only I dream for this Chevy, I will add this to my wish list too. Of all the things to dream about, I never really considered a car. May it be second hand or brand new. But when I saw this Chevy Cruze, finally, a vehicle made it to my list. I love how deep they made the color red. Not too catchy, but very stylish and elegant for a lady- driver. Another reason why I want this is because of its name---CRUZE--- for those who know me...well, you know what I'm talking about.

A feature that would probably catch your attention is the space this car has to offer. And being  a family person, space does matter to me. And when you have plenty of space, comfort and safety follows. Let's see... we have plans on buying a new car soon, but as a family, we opted for a bigger vehicle. This will definitely just stay under "my" personal needs and most probably, I will suggest this car for my sisters. Yeah, my dad will buy my younger sisters a car one of these days, let's just wait and see.

Sunday Activity: Shopping for Flowering Plants

One of the things I enjoy every Sunday is relaxing and planning things for the house. Since we now live "in a house", it's more fun and there are plenty of options, activities to do with my family. So yesterday, I asked my husband to accompany me to a nearby place to buy flowering plants. I have been on it a few months ago since we transferred. I need at least 3 or 4 pots to make my laundry area look nice. And to my excitement I even forgot the lady about the name of the flowers I just bought. (haha!)
Anyway, I was able to buy small pouches of the flowers for 25 bucks each. Then I asked them to plant it by 2s in a clay pot. I'm not good at taking care of plants, and most especially flowers. My first batch died immediately a few months after.
When I got to the area, I asked the sales lady to choose a flowering plant for me that don't require too much sun and water and that can be both for indoor and outdoor purposes. It was a great choice, I've been seeing this plant everywhere, and I was told that it grows and blooms fast. This was also the very same plant planted at my late father-in-laws grave. It will look stunning once it branches out. My next project is to fill the small garden by our bedroom window with shrubs and I want a plant that grows small, purple, flowers. I didn't buy it yet, because I still need to measure the area.

Imagine put them together, side by side, it is going to be an instant Lavender field- like by our window.

2's Awesome!

Just this Saturday, 4 things in 2 sets came by surprise.
1. A dvd box set of 28 Days and 28 Weeks Later. I have been looking for this set for a very long time. Finally, I was able to find one, and if I didn't ask the sales lady, I will never know. It was the only copy left on the shelf, so I think it was really meant for me. These 2 Zombie movies are my favorites among the long line of Zombie flicks made. The thrill, the unexpected surprises, the zombie attacks, stories of different individuals working together and against each other... it was just too good.
2. Feeling all sluggish and lazy this morning, the 2 Blackberries I saw on my computer table woke me up. My husband started using a Blackberry when he moved to a different company 2 years ago. He was required to own one, so he got his first Blackberry then.  The other one? Hmmm... What do you think? As always, one of those is the old BB of  my husband. This is what I'm talking about they just come. The other one may not be as new , but with proper care, still looks good. Let's just put it this way, I'm officially carrying 3 cellphones in my bag right now.  My Sony Ericsson P990i, my tiny Nokia from SMART (which I got recently) and now a BlackBerry® Curve™ 8320. Honestly, I don't need it, but in times like these... WHO CARES!

Franky's Weekend Birthday Celebration

If Franky's birthday celebration for the past years were simple, make this one the simplest. Yet, we will make it the most memorable.

Birthday Graphics

Weekend? my husband and I decided to make our weekend extra special this week. For the upcoming birthday of our son, we came up with several plans to have the whole weekend just for Franky. To begin, today, we will be going to all of his toy shops at the Greenhills Shopping Center and make him choose whatever he likes. Actually he's been requesting for a Ben 10 watch. Another, is a Superman Costume. He now likes Superman more than Spiderman, or maybe because Superman can fly.
Then after, we will be bringing him to SM Megamall to have a good time at his favorite play area, while playing, my husband and I will proceed on buying more gifts for him. Tonight, we will have dinner and off to see The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole. Franky likes this movie, everytime he sees the preview on television, he stops with whatever he is doing and he gives his full attention.

Kids, they always make it unforgettable every time they get whatever they want on their special day. True? based on my experience, one of my unforgettable moments as a child was when I got my first Barbie Doll. And even up to now, that experience is one of the most talked about, especially when I recall my childhood days with my parents and siblings. And we want Franky to have those same unforgettable thoughts. That someday we will have our own conversation, recalling his first favorite moments as a child. At this age, it's going to be easier for children to register special events, especially if it is their birthday. By the way, the celebration continues until tomorrow. we have another set of activities, starting with lunch at Johnny Rockets!

What If... The Zombie Survival Guide

Did it ever occur to you what if, a real Zombie scenario will happen? I thought about it several times,  even brainstormed with my husband (who's also a fan of zombie flicks) of things we must do in preparation for such event. But really, we don't want that to happen, ever! Let's see, I've seen a lot of Zombie movies--- Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Shaun of the Dead, I consider Quarantine as a Zombie flick and of course what can be "Zombier" than 28 Days and Weeks Later. Enjoyed it? kinda, it's the "what ifs" that's going inside my mind.
What if this Zombie thing really happens? Funny part,  it is going to be a whole different story when it happens here in the Philippines. Imagine, MMDA's walking like corpses, Jeepney Driver's reaching for you, some half- naked stand-by carrying a bottle of beer walking in a weird manner, your neighbor with a broom or "pamaypay"dragging herself towards you.
What if I am the one stuck in the movie, running away from the Zombies, where will I  get my melee and ranged weapons. It's not easy to carry those things if it's real. What if...
What if I go to a supermarket and stock up on supplies, how will I do it, what store will I go to?
What if  I get stuck in a mall or in a highway inside my car, should I go out or remain unnoticed? Well, Max Brooks was thinking the same way and created the ultimate Zombie Survival Guide, Complete Protection From The Living Dead. This reading started by defining key words that is going to be helpful in the later part of the book.
From the best tactics, positions, locations, weapons, armor and even vehicles to use this book explained everything well and "wisely".
Let me share the Top 5 Lessons For Surviving A Zombie Attack:
1. Organize before they rise.
2. They feel no fear, why should you?
3. Use your head: cut off theirs.
4. Blades don't need reloading.
5. Ideal protection: tight clothes and short hair.

A story behind the cause, future effects and worse case scenarios and the "temporary solutions" in order to survive. Keep moving, keep low, keep quiet and keep alert! as how Max Brooks described it. I gave emphasis on temporary, because in cases like these, the only thing that is permanent is the thought that you need to live no matter what. Most of the time, you will be running around.
And in my hands is a copy of another Max Brooks special. World War Z--- An Oral History of the Zombie Wars. A New York Times Bestseller and intended to be in full picture by 2012 with Brad Pitt as lead role.-source-
World War Z is a collection of individual accounts in the form of first-person anecdote. Brooks designed World War Z to follow the "laws" set up in The Zombie Survival Guide, and explained that the guide may exist in the world of the novel as a precursor to the Zombie War.-source-

Spoiled Surprise

My husband and I got stuck in the hospital for the past 5 days, it's just wonderful when friends would visit. So here we are gathered in our room, while chatting, I was fixing my bag, a co-worker of my husband (Princess) saw the bag, this red bag below.

The old surprise: it has been my favorite bag since then. I wonder if the new one will impress me. Hmmm...

She was like: "it's the bag" I knew immediately that she's one of the people who helped my husband choose the bag above for my birthday back in 2008.

It all started with my old red tote. Princess accidentally slipped that another bag is set to be shipped from Canada or the US (I didn't hear it clearly) but for sure, it's another bag that my husband ordered.

It was a surprise, now I know that I have something coming, and to hold the excitement, I didn't ask for the specifications, like the type of bag, the brand, the color, all I know he bought another one for me (again).

All this time, I was totally clueless until we had that conversation with Princess. I think Princess didn't know that it was a secret. Anyway, thanks Princess. I'm very excited! This is the only surprise from my husband that got spoiled. Bottomline, I am very blessed to have married a wonderful person full of surprises. There's no occasion to celebrate, but here he is brewing another unforgettable memory in my life.

It's A Brand New Day!

Each of us are always given an experience as a learning curve in life. Well, my experience for the past 2 weeks has been very challenging. It was my first time to be placed on the spot when I should make a fast decision, where I must show strength even I feel weak inside... I may say that this was the most challeging my whole life. It brushed through 2 of the major roles I play---being a mother to my son and being a wife and a partner to my husband.

Physically, mentally, emotionally, my husband and I are both trying to be strong. We laugh on some things even in this situation. I guess being positive made things easier and faster. Throughout our 6 years of being married this was the ultimate challenge for us. Instead of feeling devastated,  I looked at it as an opportunity in disguise. An opportunity to test and improve one's patience, a chance to think of a smarter approach, to be more understanding and flexible. I am just thankful that we were given the chance to become knowledgeable of the cause,  I was able to take him to a hospital that made him feel better sooner than expected.

As a mother, being away from my little boy drove me crazy. He can't stay with us in the hospital, had to bring him to my parent's for the mean time. There were nights when my mom would call, because Franky was crying calling out for his mama and papa.

But today is a brand new day. I wasn't expecting that the sun will show up, but it did. First thing I saw from my window was hope, happiness and freedom. Freedom to finally breath some fresh air. We don't really like hospitals.

What will happen next is still a mystery. All I want to do right now, is to go home with my boys.  Finally, my husband was given a go signal to be discharged anytime from today until monday. No matter how long, that is still good news to us.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ the Father of compassions and God of all comfort:Who comforts us in all of our afflictions that we may be able to comfort those who are in every affliction through the comforting with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For even as the sufferings of the Christ abound unto us, so through the Christ our comfort also abounds ~2Corinthians 1: 3-5
