I found about the Conficker Worm through my husband. They've been keeping safe their office's computer system since the rumor came out. It is bound to steal credit card numbers, passwords and other personal accounts. To my understanding, anything that you type or visit or whatever you do with your computer, is going to be copied by the said virus. The creators will get every info.

Microsoft offers a free online safety scan, which should be able to detect all Conficker versions.
Be extra vigilant on protecting your computers. Make sure your anti-virus software is updated and working. As Conficker may have disabled it already.
